Fertilised hatching eggs from our flock of UK standard dark cuckoo marans hens bred to our silver cuckoo marans cock selected for his clarity of cuckoo plumage and chunky build. All chicks will be purebred dark cuckoo marans, though the silver can be selected for by breeders by choosing paler hackles.

The chicks can be sexed at hatch with some accuracy, as males will have a much larger, clearer white head spot on their black down than pullets, who have a smaller, blurrier spot.

We send the darkest eggs available, though our dark cuckoo hens do not lay eggs as dark as some lines due to preference on type and productivity. We aim to darken our eggs over the next few generations.

Our eggs are sent in good-will from a well managed flock, are fertilised by the rooster, and are expertly packaged. Due to the nature of shipping eggs, and incubation factors beyond our control, we are unable to send refunds for unsuccessful hatches.

While our eggs are expertly packaged, factors including the disruption of the internal air-sac during shipping and incubation failure lie outside of our control. We only ship known fertile eggs, but due to these factors, we cannot promise any rate of success, and therefore do not offer refunds for unsuccessful hatches of any degree. Please do your research before buying and incubating chicken eggs, and ensure you have a suitable habitat for the live animals once they hatch. We recommend that you rest the eggs, pointy side down, for 24 hours before incubation, and wait no more than a day more to begin this process. If eggs do arrive broken, please contact us via email immediately so a replacement or appropriate refund can be arranged. Such refund will cover the cost of the number of damaged eggs but not shipping.

We aim to ship the eggs within three days of your purchase. In times of high demand, you may have to wait longer than this. In such cases, we will be in touch to confirm your postage date. To ensure viability, our eggs are posted Royal Mail first class.
